Nationwide survey on digitization problems in laboratories
The Digital LabHub of the QI Digital initiative is currently conducting a nationwide survey on the greatest challenges of digitization in laboratories. The survey is supported by the German Association of Independent Testing Laboratories (VUP), the Spectaris industry association and the SPMD.
The Digital LabHub serves as a central platform for information and networking in the laboratory industry. There, users, manufacturers and associations work together on solutions and standards for the digital transformation of laboratories. The aim is to bundle knowledge, create synergies and drive digitization forward in a practical and collaborative way. The platform supports laboratories with exchange formats, practice-oriented orientation and the development of digital tools.
The survey is intended to identify typical pain points of laboratory digitalization. From this, concrete, practical tools and support services are to be derived. The main target group is laboratory employees who are best placed to judge from daily practice which processes take too much time, where processes should be optimized or digital solutions are currently too cumbersome.
The survey runs from March 23 to April 30, 2026.
