Preview: International Protein Biomarker Workshop in Reutlingen
Current developments in protein biomarker research will be the focus of an international workshop hosted by the Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) at the University of Tübingen on September 17 and 18, 2026 in Reutlingen. The event is organized together with the GBM Study Group Bioanalytics and SIGNATOPE GmbH.
The workshop brings together leading scientists from academic research, the pharmaceutical industry and clinical practice. The focus is on innovative technologies such as ultrasensitive immunoassays, multiplex affinity platforms and mass spectrometric methods for quantitative protein analysis. In addition, regulatory requirements and strategies for the translation of biomarkers into clinical trials are discussed.

The areas of application include the detection of drug-induced organ damage, therapy monitoring and concepts of personalized medicine.
Speakers include Dr. Christoph Borchers from the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Warren Glaab from Merck Sharp & Dohme (USA), Prof. Dr. Chris Goldring from the University of Liverpool, Dr. med. Klemens Ruprecht from the University of Heidelberg, Dr. Ulrich Kunz from Boehringer Ingelheim, Dr. Dr. med. Susanne Roth from the University Hospital Tübingen and Prof. Dr. Jochen Schwenk from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
The workshop will take place at the NMI at Markwiesenstraße 55 in Reutlingen. Registration is possible.
