Hannover Messe: Center Stage with Friedrich Merz, Roland Busch and Barack Obama
The new Center Stage will be the central meeting point for HANNOVER MESSE 2026. There, representatives from business, politics and science will discuss the future of industry.
On the Monday of the fair, leading industry representatives will discuss together with Chancellor Friedrich Merz how AI can be scaled into broad industrial application. Among others, DAX board members Roland Busch (Siemens), Christian Klein (SAP) and Tim Höttges (Deutsche Telekom) will be there.
Also on Monday, astronaut Alexander Gerst, Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and Research Minister Dorothee Bär will talk about the High-Tech Agenda Germany.
On Tuesday, Toto Wolff, Team Principal of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, will discuss innovations in Formula 1 and what the industry can learn from them with Oliver Steil, CEO of TeamViewer.

In the afternoon, CEOs such as Armin Papperger (Rheinmetall) and Michael Schöllhorn (Airbus Defence and Space) as well as representatives of the security architecture such as General Markus Laubenthal (NATO Military Strategic Headquarters) will talk about the consequences of the change in the security situation for industry and defence.
On Wednesday morning, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, Chairman of Spitzberg Partners, and Gregor Gysi will record a podcast live under the title “Energy hunger of the future – industry, AI and the fight for electricity”. On Wednesday afternoon, the future of humanoid robotics will be discussed on the Center Stage with companies such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, Hexagon, Agile Robots, BMW and Schaeffler.
On Thursday, the production managers of companies such as Claas, Merck or the sporting goods manufacturer ON will provide insights into their strategies for introducing automation and AI. Later in the day, Verena Pausder and Carsten Maschmeyer, among others, will discuss the success factors of innovation ecosystems with startups and Barack Obama will appeal to young founders in a video message to courageously shape the future.
On Friday, leading futurologists, scientists and company representatives will discuss how new technologies will change work, culture and skills in the future. Philipp Lahm, former captain of the German national team, will conclude with a contribution on leadership, resilience and goal orientation.
