by | Jun 8, 2026 | Health, Research

The German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) is calling for funding for translational projects on cancer metabolism within the framework of the EU network TRANSCAN-4. The guideline, entitled “Translational Research on Cancer Metabolism: Multidisciplinary Approaches to Diagnosis and Treatment”, was published in the Federal Gazette on 5 June 2026.

The aim of the funding measure is to strengthen international research networks and to bring the understanding of metabolic changes in cancer into clinical application. The focus is on the development of new biomarkers for diagnosis and monitoring as well as the use of metabolic vulnerabilities for improved precision medicine. The projects are intended to advance innovative, personalized approaches to diagnosis, patient stratification and therapy.
