XXIV Lipid Meeting Leipzig opens with focus on cardiovascular diseases

The XXIV Lipid Meeting Leipzig opens today at the Salles de Pologne in Leipzig. The three-day conference from 10 to 12 December 2025 will bring together international researchers to discuss current and forward-looking topics in cardio-metabolic diseases. The renowned biennial meeting is organised by Leipzig University Hospital under the direction of the congress presidents Prof. Dr. Berend Isermann, Prof. Dr. Uta Ceglarek, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Laufs and Prof. Dr. Matthias Blüher.

The program is dedicated to innovative clinical and translational research approaches to lipid disorders, lipoproteins and related vascular diseases. The focus is on new findings on the regulation of vascular diseases, immune thrombosis and molecular and clinical aspects of obesity. In addition, reproductive and transgenerational effects of lipid disorders and vascular diseases are examined. International experts present and discuss these topics in order to promote the transfer of knowledge between clinics and basic research.

The event is aimed at physicians, clinicians and students who are interested in cardio-metabolic pathologies. It offers a platform for participants from different career stages and disciplines to exchange current research results in a collegial atmosphere. In addition to scientific sessions, the program includes poster presentations and industry symposia, among others by AMGEN, Daiichi-Sankyo and Novartis.

The kick-off on Wednesday includes a social event with dinner starting at 7:30 p.m., followed by plenary and scientific sessions on Thursday and Friday. Highlights include lectures on vascular biology, lipoprotein function and new approaches to lipid lowering. On Friday, the conference will end with closing remarks at 4:00 p.m., followed by an optional participation in Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio” in St. Thomas’s Church.

The event has been certified for 12 CME points by the Saxon State Medical Association. The meeting is financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and various sponsors such as AMGEN, Novartis and Roche, among others.
