by | Mar 31, 2026 | Health, Politics

On April 11, 2026, the association unith e.V. will participate for the first time as a co-organizer in a demonstration in Hesse against the planned fee reduction of 4.5 percent for psychotherapeutic services by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds. The event starts at 3:00 p.m. on the Opernplatz in Frankfurt am Main.

Several thousand participants are expected, including psychotherapists in training, licensed specialists and supporters from politics, professional associations and initiatives. With the demonstration, the organizers want to set an example against the cuts and draw attention to the consequences for psychotherapeutic care.

The planned reduction in remuneration is met with criticism nationwide. Many experts warn that further cuts would exacerbate the already tense situation in mental health care. In several cities, resistance is currently forming through demonstrations and actions by professional associations and initiatives.

unith e.V. sees the participation as a clear political signal. Instead of cuts, sustainable investments in psychotherapeutic care are necessary, which is already reaching its limits in many places. High-quality care for patients must not be further endangered.

The association is committed nationwide to fair training and working conditions in psychotherapy as well as to sustainable patient care.
