Oskar Medical Prize 2025 announced for pneumology research
The Oskar Medical Prize, endowed with 50,000 euros and Germany’s highest medical prize, will be awarded in 2025 for outstanding research work in the field of pneumology. The German Society for Pneumology and Respiratory Medicine (DGP), the German Respiratory League (DAL) and the German Lung Foundation (DLS) are calling on researchers to apply with projects on infections of the lungs and pleura. The prize is awarded by the Oskar Helene Home Foundation and the application deadline is August 31, 2025.

Pneumologists have the opportunity to apply every three years – most recently in 2022. The aim is to promote innovative basic or clinical research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of lung and pleural infections. Projects focusing on coronaviruses are excluded in 2025 in order to give priority to other infections. The prize money can be used freely for research purposes.
