MEDICA 2025 and COMPAMED 2025 start in Düsseldorf

Before a tour of the trade fair, Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken and NRW Minister of Health Karl-Josef Laumann will open the 48th German Hospital Conference in Hall 10. The discussions will focus on the next steps of hospital reform and their opportunities for the modernization of hospitals, in particular through investments in digitization and networking of care structures.

On Tuesday, EU Health Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi will visit MEDICA and meet with CEOs of the medical technology industry, among others, for a joint lunch. Tim Walz, Governor of the US state of Minnesota and US Vice Presidential candidate in 2024, has announced that he will be attending on Wednesday, highlighting the international appeal of MEDICA, especially in the USA.
One focus of MEDICA 2025 will be on robotics, automation and artificial intelligence in terms of new exhibitors and the programme of accompanying conferences and forums. Numerous applications, for example for robot-assisted surgery or laboratory logistics, will be presented. A study on robotics in the healthcare sector published at the start of the trade fair by Messe Düsseldorf together with the industry association SPECTARIS provides additional insights and sheds light on market potential.
With the Hospital of the Future in Hall 10, the newly designed MEDICA INNOVATION FORUM, international start-up competitions, the Wearables Technologies Show and the MEDICA START-UP PARK in Hall 12, which recorded a record number of start-ups with around 80 start-ups, Future Health Tech is coming into focus. Start-ups will present forward-looking solutions such as robust defibrillators with app connection, neurotherapeutic high-tech 3D helmets or digital platforms for automated management of clinical trials including billing.
Parallel to MEDICA, COMPAMED will be showcasing the expertise of the medical technology industry’s supplier sector in Halls 8a and 8b with innovations in key technologies such as micro and materials technology as well as IT solutions for medical technology.
MEDICA and COMPAMED are aimed exclusively at trade visitors. Opening hours are Monday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available online at medica.de and compamed.de.
