Central facility for clinical chemistry at Ulm University Hospital

Description

The Central Facility (ZE) Clinical Chemistry is responsible for the laboratory medical care of inpatients and outpatients at the University Hospital.

In addition, the Clinical Chemistry unit is responsible for laboratory medical analysis for a large number of clinical studies from various departments. Using state-of-the-art analysis technology, around 400 parameters from all areas of laboratory diagnostics are examined in accordance with the quality guidelines of the German Medical Association.

In order to keep pace with advances in laboratory medicine, the Clinical Chemistry unit is constantly evaluating new parameters and methods from an analytical, economic and medical perspective.

In addition, the staff of the Clinical Chemistry Unit are involved in the training of medical and dental students and in the training of medical technologists for laboratory analysis at the MTA School in Wiblingen.

The cross-departmental laboratory information system, which supports the microbiology and virology departments, among others, is also operated and continuously developed by our team.
