Description

The Central Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Diagnostics at Heinrich Heine University and the associated chair play a leading role in laboratory medicine in teaching, research and patient care. It is headed by Univ-Prof. Dr. med. Fritz Boege. The institute covers the entire field of clinical chemistry, hematology and hemostaseology. The Institute’s research focuses on mitochondrial regulation, beta-adrenergic signal transduction and cellular processes (chromatin structure, cell nucleus architecture, cell cycle control). In teaching, the Central Institute of Clinical Chemistry is significantly involved in the training of students on the model degree course in human medicine and dentistry and the Master’s degree course in molecular medicine.
