HMU Potsdam launches NC-free Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine with first year
The Health and Medical University (HMU) in Potsdam will accept the first students in its new, admission-free bachelor’s degree program in biomedicine in the winter semester 2025/26. The ambitious candidates, who are enthusiastic about the natural sciences and want to fight diseases as researchers, can expect a program with intensive laboratory practice and theoretical deepening.

The curriculum combines basic subjects such as anatomy, biology, biochemistry and physiology with an understanding of the human organism at the cellular and molecular level. This content is supplemented by career field explorations and an internship semester that applies acquired knowledge directly in real laboratory environments.
Prof. Wim Walter, Professor of Physiology and Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching at HMU, emphasizes the joy of training future researchers who are to advance medical progress through new findings. The program offers ideal conditions to promote talents in biomedical research and prepare them for demanding careers in science and medicine.
