2025 will see a premiere with the MedLabAwards in Leipzig. Coveted prizes from the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine will be awarded in the Salles de Pologne on October 22.
The award ceremony recognizes outstanding achievements, creative approaches and sustainable impulses across the entire spectrum of laboratory medicine. Whether scientific excellence, innovative diagnostics, interdisciplinary collaboration or the promotion of young talent – the prizes awarded as part of the MedLabAwards are a visible sign of quality, commitment and sustainability in our field.
This evening brings together everyone who is anyone in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, brings together young scientists, and celebrates the innovations and successes of the entire industry.

The German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine awards the Gábor Szász Prize in memory of Gábor Szász for outstanding work in the field of clinical chemistry and pathobiochemistry.
Digital Laboratory Prize
Prize money: €15,000

The focus is on process/interface optimization in the laboratory, such as the detection of pre-analytical errors, analysis of measurement results, preparation of findings, consultation with the sender, etc. using digitalized processes and/or innovative AI models.
Ivar Trautschold Young Talent Award
Prize money: €10,000

The Ivar Trautschold Young Talent Award honors and promotes young wscientists, who have produced outstanding work in the field of clinical chemistry and pathobiochemistry.

The Salle de Pologne in the heart of Leipzig combines historical elegance with modern event technology. Leipzig Central Station is centrally located and around 800 m from the Salle de Pologne. From there, you can reach the venue in about 10 minutes on foot. Alternatively, you can take streetcar lines 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14 or 15 to the Goerdelerring stop; from there it is approx. 200 m on foot.
As a participant of the DKLM 2025 from October 23 to 24, you can also benefit from the special rail offer. Booking will be possible from mid-July 2025.
