Broermann Medical Innovation Award 2026: Nomination phase started
The nomination phase for the Broermann Medical Innovation Award 2026 has begun. With an endowment of one million euros, the prize is one of the world’s most important awards for medical research. Scientists worldwide who are pioneering in medicine, biotechnology or related fields can apply until March 1, 2026. The focus is on research results with high innovation potential for clinical applications that can sustainably improve the lives and health of millions of people. The announcement of the award winner and the award ceremony will take place in autumn 2026.

The prize, launched in 2024, will be awarded for the first time this year. The jury will announce the first prize winner on September 18, 2025, and the award will be presented on November 14, 2025 by the Hessian Prime Minister Boris Rhein at the Hessian State Chancellery in Wiesbaden. The award honours the vision of Dr. Bernard Große Broermann, founder of the Asklepios Kliniken Group, and is donated by Broermann gemeinnützigen GmbH and organised by the University Hospital Giessen and Marburg (UKGM). It recognizes groundbreaking discoveries and emphasizes the importance of individual researchers in advancing disease prevention and treatment.
