Bonn Humboldt Research Award Forum sheds light on the future of artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence is a central topic in science, industry, politics and society. From 22 to 24 October, experts from all over the world will discuss fundamental questions about the development and application of AI at the Humboldt Research Award Forum in Bonn. The focus is on systems that physically interact with the environment and people, solutions to weaknesses of current models, and the need to further advance AI.

The forum brings together leading personalities in AI research, including eight Humboldt Professors: Holger Hoos, Hector Geffner, Vincent Müller, André Platzer, Daniel Rückert, Angela Schoellig, Heike Vallery and Angela Yu. Other participants are Oliver Brock, Milica Gašić, Sumit Gulwani and Toby Walsh. The scientific committee is headed by Holger Hoos, Oliver Brock and Vincent Müller.
With the AI Professorship, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation supports top-level international research at the interface of technology, the environment and society with up to five million euros per project. The forum connects foundation members with external experts to promote the responsible use of transformative technologies. It includes contributions from computer science, cognitive science and philosophy and strengthens Bonn’s profile as a science location. Every year, new connections are established between award winners, young scientists and German institutions.
Kakutia (violin), Chialong Tsai (viola), Graham Waterhouse (cello/piano) and Mattia Riva (double bass).
The complete programme is available on the Humboldt Foundation’s website. Further dates on Friday, October 24, will conclude the forum.
