analytica 2026 focuses on digital transformation of the laboratory world
The world’s leading trade fair for laboratory technology, analytics and biotechnology will focus on the digital transformation of the industry at analytica from March 24 to 27, 2026. Automated analyses, robot support and AI-supported data evaluation characterise the exhibition and the accompanying conference.
In the special show “Digital Transformation”, 18 exhibitors, including Liebherr, Metrohm, Mettler Toledo and Sigma, will show how hardware and software from different manufacturers work together to automate and simplify laboratory processes. Interactive exhibits illustrate digital workflows in drinking water, aroma and fragrance analysis as well as in temperature control processes. A cobot from Universal Robots takes over sample handling in centrifuges and other tasks.
The laboratory execution system SAMPLES from the exhibitor Qualitype enables data from different sources to be merged and processed with external tools such as Excel. The Splashlake platform creates interfaces between laboratory equipment and LIMS and supports the connection to AI-based analytics. Both companies are partners of the special show.

At the analytica Conference, a session chaired by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Panne from the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing will be dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence. The lectures will cover self-driving labs as well as digital tools in mass spectrometry, photonics and food analysis.
In the five exhibition halls, more than 1000 exhibitors from all over the world will present innovations in which machine learning and AI are already used in the evaluation of spectra and other data – for example in GC/MS analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy or atomic force microscopy. Thermo Fisher recently entered into a strategic partnership with OpenAI.
The combination of trade fair, conference and supporting programme offers space for exchange between manufacturers, users, science, industry and authorities. analytica thus accompanies the ongoing digital transformation in the laboratory world.
