by | Apr 17, 2026 | Health, Research

From 23 to 24 April 2026 The 12th Central German Laboratory Conference will take place in Weimar. The established training event is aimed at young scientists, doctors in training, medical-technical assistants and experienced colleagues from laboratory medicine and related disciplines. The scientific programme committee – with representatives of the University Hospitals of Jena, Leipzig, Dresden, Magdeburg and Halle – has once again put together a wide-ranging and highly topical programme that combines routine aspects, methodological innovations and interdisciplinary developments in research and patient care.

Thursday, April 23, 2026 – Precision Medicine and Artificial Intelligence

The program starts at 11:00 a.m. with check-in. After an optional industry workshop, the welcome starts at 1:00 p.m ., followed by the scientific part from 1:15 p.m . onwards.

Session I: LC-MS/MS-based diagnostics as a building block of precision medicine
(Chair: Uta Ceglarek, Leipzig • Peter Mirtschink, Dresden)

Conclusion

The program of the 12th Central German Laboratory Conference is characterized by a successful mix of methodological innovations (LC-MS/MS, AI, liquid profiling, robotics), clinically relevant topics in hemostaseology and hematology as well as forward-looking discussions on personnel, leadership and sepsis diagnostics. Particularly noteworthy is the direct bridging between new therapy development and laboratory diagnostic consequences – exemplified in the lecture on hemophilia.

The conference offers an excellent platform for interdisciplinary exchange in Central German laboratory medicine and beyond.
