analytica 2026: Supporting Program Makes Smart Laboratory Tangible
The world’s leading trade fair analytica from March 24 to 27, 2026 in Munich will focus on the transformation of the laboratory world through digitalization, artificial intelligence and sustainability with an extensive supporting program. Best practice examples, live demonstrations, expert forums and career opportunities are intended to prepare laboratory users for the requirements of tomorrow in a practical way.
The focus will be on the special show “Digital Transformation” (Hall B2, Booth 331). In daily live demonstrations, 18 exhibitors – including Liebherr, Metrohm, Mettler Toledo and Sigma – will demonstrate how hardware and software from different manufacturers work seamlessly together. Digitized workflows in drinking water, flavor and fragrance analysis, automated temperature control processes and a cobot that takes over simple laboratory tasks will be on display. Visitors can try out the integration for themselves.
The “Live Lab” (Hall B2, Booth 333) provides a view over the shoulders of experts three times a day. Typical workflows such as digitized chromatography workflows, automated microscopy, networked laboratory infrastructure, and food and packaging analysis will be presented using pizza and chocolate as examples. Free guided tours offer a compact overview of innovations in food analysis, chromatography/HPLC and sustainable laboratory operations. Registration is possible via the trade fair website.

In four forums, expert lectures and discussion rounds will impart current know-how:
- Forum Digital Transformation (B2.137): Overview of laboratory digitization with keynote by Marcelina Dutkiewicz (efficiency Tactics) on “7 ways to run successful AI initiatives” (March 24, 11:30 a.m.).
- Forum Biotech (A3.527): Practical solutions from life sciences and biotechnology, including next-generation sequencing and instrumental analytics; Finance Day on 26 March with funding tips for start-ups and SMEs.
- Forum Laboratory & Analysis (B1.131): Applications and processes of laboratory analysis with tips for everyday life.
- Forum Lab Safety (B1.537): Twice daily experimental lectures on safety rules including spectacular demonstrations; daily lecture on the safe storage and charging of lithium batteries.
Career and further training opportunities complement the program: Seminars by the consulting firm Dr. Klinkner & Partner deal with AI applications, analysis techniques, project management and legal issues. The Jobday on 27 March will enable contacts with employers and HR managers. In the “Laboratory & Analysis” forum, students and young professionals will gain insights into career paths in chemistry, pharmaceuticals and at equipment manufacturers. At the same time, the Study Info Day invites high school graduates to take part in scientific professions and courses of study.
The supporting programme combines scientific impulses with practical application and supports the transfer of knowledge in a rapidly changing laboratory landscape.
