44th DGS Annual Congress starts in Stuttgart
The 44th Annual Congress of the German Society of Senology begins today at the International Congress Center Stuttgart. Experts, patient associations and representatives from politics and industry will be meeting until June 28 to discuss advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The program highlights the latest scientific findings and promotes interdisciplinary exchange.

The varied program includes highlights such as Oxford debates, a science slam and the presentation of the updated S3 guideline on breast cancer. Topics such as artificial intelligence, health literacy and transgender surgery are also in the spotlight.
The opening event will kick off with a welcome address by the DGS Chairwoman, Prof. Sara Y. Brucker, and the presentation of prizes, including the DGS Science Prize, the Klaus-Dieter Schulz Healthcare Research Prize, the Florence Nightingale Prize, the “Junior meets Senior” innovation prize and DGS honorary membership. A keynote speech on data security in medical facilities will round off the event.
Over the following days, the congress will focus on research, teaching and knowledge transfer. Experts from the fields of surgery, gynecology, radiology, radiation oncology, internal medicine and plastic surgery will provide updates on current topics. The exchange plays a central role in developing new concepts for diagnostics, therapy, prevention and aftercare and optimizing patient care.
