12th Central German Laboratory Conference in Weimar in April 2026
The 12th Central German Laboratory Conference will take place on 23 and 24 April 2026 in Weimar. The established training event is aimed at young scientists, doctors in training, medical-technical assistants and experienced specialists from laboratory diagnostics and related fields.
The conference offers a broad thematic program on current issues in laboratory medicine. In addition to routine topics, the focus is on new analytical-methodological advances and interdisciplinary developments in research and patient care. Planned focal points include hemostaseology, hematology, artificial intelligence in laboratory medicine, proteomics, sepsis and systemic inflammation, liquid profiling, as well as future issues such as the use of robotic systems, personnel recruitment and the requirements of the multigenerational laboratory.

The event is organized by the scientific program committee, which includes representatives of the university hospitals of Jena, Leipzig, Dresden, Magdeburg and Halle (Saale). The conference will take place exclusively in presence and attaches great importance to direct interdisciplinary exchange and personal discussions.
This will be the third time that Weimar has hosted the Central German Laboratory Conference. The organizers see the event as an important contribution to laboratory medical training in the region. Further information on the programme and registration is available on the conference website.
